Aries Tarot Card & Runes

Aries is ruled by the Emperor Tarot Card. The Emperor depicts maturity and authority, as well as ability to achieve your goals. He shows that you have amazing analytical powers and are a natural leader but says that you sometimes have a hard time backing down from your own views and should recognize this and show compassion for those who challenge you. Know that while you prefer to be in charge, others have something to contribute.

Aries Rune Stones are Berkano and Ehwaz.

Berkano is the rune of new beginnings, renewal and recovery both physically and spiritually. For the first sign of the Zodiac, this fits perfectly. It depicts new activity and growth, new life and profit, as well as fertility and new life.

Ehwaz depicts movement and travel and relates to movement with a purpose and partnerships full of harmony and trust. It shows us that by sticking together and remaining faithful to our goals and each other, we are able to make progress towards our common wants.

Aries Season March 19 – April 20

Aries is a fire sign and the first sign of the Zodiac, welcome to the new Astrological year. Aries is a high energy sign and there is no doubt that with all the chaos in the world right now, that energy has been curbed in most of us. However, this is still a time of new beginnings and as we head in to Spring in the Northern Hemisphere (fall in the Southern), we can still get outside – bearing in mind social distancing of our course. It is a time for new beginnings and we can still set our intent, no matter how limited we may be at this time.

Aries in particular, have the opportunity to start fresh now, set goals and plan out your year. Aries is an active sign and prefer to not be still, and this extends to the rest of us right now, so get out there and get moving. Go for a walk, clean up your yard, plan your garden, or harvest, depending on where you are in the world. Despite things being so difficult for so many, there is still good reason to carry on as normally as possible and plan for later in the year when things will improve.

Aries have a reputation for honesty and loyalty, and at times can be brutal with the truth, all admirable qualities and at this time, more important than ever I feel. Even though we need to keep our distance, it is a time to be there for your family and friends, time to support each other and bring out the best in ourselves and others since Aries can also appear at times, to be self absorbed. They don’t mean to be this way, they just don’t always understand that others’ have wants and needs too. With all that is going on around us, it would be easy to take on these traits, but focusing on others, will also help to abate the panic some are feeling.

Try to remain brave (another Aries trait) and strong! Retain as much spontaneity as you can, and look to the future with passion and positivity. Be active and sew your seeds!

Pisces Tarot Card & Rune Stone

Pisces’ Tarot Card is The Moon and is so fitting given the sensitive nature of Piscean’s. Pisces is imaginative, creative, compassionate and empathetic, traits we also associate with the Moon. Pisces also rules the 12th house of secrets, dreams and escapism. The Moon card suggests that things are not always as they appear and that we may in fact be suffering from idealism, it is also about our shadow self and depicts the coming together of our conscious and subconscious selves. Perhaps this is also a time of realizing and using, our psychic abilities and also to come out of the shadow’s and into the light.

Pisces ruling Rune Stones are Othila and Dagaz.

Othila symbolizes the wisdom of our ancestors. This card fits well with Pisces as they tend to have a little of the traits of each zodiac sign and are the last sign of the zodiac. Othila says that you have inherited the spiritual knowledge from your ancestors and now need to integrate that into your future path. This stone can also depict family property, inheritance and heritage that can be passed on.

Dagaz is the last rune and literally means ‘Day’. It symbolizes the dawn and awakening. It says that you have reached the end of the beginning of your journey, you have woken and begun your enlightenment. It is the stone of positive energy which also blocks negative energy. Dagaz is able to transform a situation, turning it on its head and allowing you to begin a new cycle.

Pisces Season February 19th – March 20th, 2020

Pisces is a water sign and is the last sign of the Zodiac, bringing about the end of the astrological year. Pisces tend to encompass a little of each of the other signs in their personality and are known to be the most intuitive sign. As this astrological year comes to an end, it is time to release all of the old which isn’t working for you, in order to make way for the new. It is time to look back on the last year and take note of all you have achieved and congratulate yourself on how far you have come. How can you take this into the future with you and build on it? It is important not to get too hung up on the things you didn’t like or didn’t work out quite the way you wanted. Pisces can be an emotional time with all the watery energy and as a result, we can be more likely to indulge in escapism, including over use of alcohol or drugs, so be careful to keep that under control. This is also a good time to explore spirituality and learn how to let go. Pisces isn’t about control, so this is a good time for leaving those traits behind, as well as forgiving past mistakes, both your own and others’. Pisces is a much more open sign than the other water signs, they allow themselves to be vulnerable, which of course is the opposite of control. Embrace love and compassion this month, have faith and watch your world open up!

Mercury is also retrograde in Pisces from February 17th to March 10th. Mercury is known to rule communication, I have been trying to write this post for the last two weeks, but although there are no negative aspects to this retrograde, I have been unable to find the block of time needed. Mercury RX, is technically a time to slow down and find the energy we didn’t realize we were short of, however, I personally have been busier than ever, painting and spring cleaning my home and also dealing with a horrible chest cold that just won’t go away. It’s no surprise that as a Libra, Mercury is currently in my 6th house of health and lifestyle. My rising sign is Sagittarius and so Mercury is also transiting my 4th house of home. I have Mercury RX in my Natal chart, so I always find these retrogrades to be a busy time. How is Mercury retro affecting you?

As well, Saturn is about to move into Aquarius from March 24th to July 1st. After that it will retrograde back in to Capricorn, until December, when it will return to Aquarius for the next couple of years. Saturn has been in my 4th house of home for the last couple of years, and I think that it is quite pertinent that I have spent a good portion of the last month, very much focused on clearing out the old at home. If you are familiar with your own chart, look to see what house Saturn is in for you.

I will write a focused post on Saturn in Aquarius soon, but for now, I expect you will all be happy to hear that things in general, are about to get a whole lot lighter for most of us. We will have a taste of what’s to come there over the next three months, but will revisit the issues we have been dealing with over the last 2.5-3 years, between July and December, Saturn’s way of making sure we really are leaving the past in the past.
